Mark B. Laroche is President and CEO of Canada Lands Company CLC Limited since July 2007 and has been renewed for an additional five-year term commencing July 2012. Mark leads the company’s senior management team as it optimizes the financial and community value obtained from real estate properties no longer required for program purposes by the Government of Canada.
Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Laroche served for six years as the first Chief Administrative Officer of the amalgamated City of Gatineau. At the beginning of his career, he worked for the Construction Engineering Unit of the Canadian Forces in Winnipeg and held several positions in the Public Works and Engineering departments of the municipalities of Aylmer and Brossard in Quebec. While in Brossard, he was promoted to Chief Administrative Officer, a position that he held for five years. Mr. Laroche holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada. He obtained his Chartered Director designation from The Directors College and is currently a Director on the Boards of the Canada Green Building Council and of Bruyère Continuing Care. Mr. Laroche has been involved with numerous organizations, including as President of the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators, as Cabinet Member of the United Way in the Outaouais region and as Chair of the audit committee of the Board of the Centre Hospitalier des Vallées de l'Outaouais.
