May, 2012www.oneportstreet.com is now live. The new website, created by Canada Lands Company, will be the primary resource and facilitation tool for residents and interested parties to learn about the 1 Port Street site and participate in the process to develop a master plan for the site.

March, 2012 – Canada Lands Company was pleased to participate in a very well attended Community Panel Discussion hosted by the Town of Port Credit Association (TOPCA) at Clarke Memorial Hall on March 22, 2011. This session allowed CLC to inform the public of its approach to CLC projects, successful waterfront development, and recent acquisition of the 1 Port Street property. In addition to Robert Howald of CLC, the panel discussion also featured presentations and/or remarks by Mayor Hazel McCallion, Councillor Jim Tovey, The Honourable Charles Sousa, The Honourable Glen Murray, Ed Charlton of Imperial Oil, and TOPCA Executives Jim Danahy and Dorothy Tomiuk.

The Power Point presentation by CLC is available for viewing via the link shown in the Project Information box to the left.

CLC acquired 1 Port Street from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) in early 2011.

The property, which includes an approximately 49 acre (20.2 hectare) waterlot and 18.3 acres (7.4 hectares) of tableland, is situated in the community of Port Credit (in the City of Mississauga), on Lake Ontario at the mouth of the Credit River.

The site includes a 3 story office building, a wharf shed, an operating marina with slippage for approximately 800 boats and related marina facilities.

The site is currently under lease to Centre City Capital Ltd. CLC has retained a facilitation team from the Canadian Urban institute to develop a plan for engaging with stakeholders, elected officials and the general public regarding the future use of this property. Through this process, CLC will have regard for the City of Mississauga’s policies and objectives with respect to the site and waterfront. CLC currently has no plans or proposed changes that would affect the current tenant; nor are there any immediate plans for any changes that would affect the normal operations of the marina.
