In association with IG Real Estate Advisors, CLC has created the approximately 38-acre (15.5 ha) Emmerson Business and Technology Park, located in the geographic center of Moncton. To date, three office buildings totaling more than 15,793 m² (170,000 ft2)of office space have been constructed. The latest building is the first private-sector building in Atlantic Canada to receive the coveted LEED (Leadership in Engineering and Environmental Design) designation.
Canada Lands Company’s (CLC’s) commitment to leave a lasting legacy in communities is exemplified through its environmental remediation of the former Canadian National Railway Shops property in Moncton, New Brunswick. CLC acquired the site in 1995 and, using an innovative risk management approach, removed the toxic chemicals and waste material in the soil in three years for less than one quarter of the initially estimated price. The project won a Phoenix Award from the United States Environmental Protection Agency in 2003.
