Located in downtown Vancouver, the office tower at 401 Burrard Street (Douglas Jung Building) is the result of a unique partnership between CLC and Public Works Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
In early 1999, PWGSC approached CLC with a proposal to develop the 401 Burrard site. The site had been vacant for several years, after the existing buildings were demolished in 1992. After months of negotiation, it was agreed that CLC would supervise the construction of the 19-storey office building. For its part, PWGSC would purchase the property upon completion. PWGSC updated and completed the building’s interior design to suit its needs, and the needs of other federal government tenants.
Completed in 2002, 401 Burrard Street offers an exceptional work environment for tenants, as well as incorporating environmentally-friendly building, such as energy-saving and waste reduction technologies, that make it a truly “green” building.
